The Everest region is the most popular trekking area in Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination, but it is more difficult to get to Solu Khumbu than to the Annapurna area.

Everest is the drawcard, but once you start trekking you’ll realize that there’s much more to the Everest region than its iconic peak. There are three separate valleys to explore, each with equally impressive views, giant snowy peaks, and beautiful villages. Even if Everest wasn’t here, the region would still boast some of the best trekking routes in the world.

Everest region, homeland to the inborn mountain sherpa people. The unique ancient culture of sherpa community in valley with unique stone houses, their traditional hospitality really makes any ones heart joyful and memorable with full of ecstacy. The practice of Buddhism in this region is famous all over the world. Buddist monks practicing buddism , their simple living in stupas, chortens and gompas are the attractions. Everest region is well known for trekking and expedition, wildlife, geographical and biological diversities, panoramic view of snow capped highest peaks of the world.

Trekking in the Everest region allows us to explore some famous places like the Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, Gokyo Lakes Trek, Cho La Pass and Renjo La Pass. Among these places, the Everest Base Camp is undoubtedly the most popular destination for hikers and backpackers. However it is Kalapathar and not the Base Camp from where the highest peak in the world can be best seen from. Trekking in this region not only allows outsiders to observe the beauty of the landscape but also helps them understand the local culture that prevails here, particularly Buddhism. Everest Region or ‘Khumbu’ as it is known in the local dialect, is a popular trekking destination among hikers from all over the world. The Sagarmatha National Park and Sagarmatha (Everest) itself is located in the Khumbu region. Besides these landmarks, the region is quite popular for its hospitable residents, particularly the Sherpas, a legendary clan of honest and friendly people. Namche Bazaar, popularly known as the ‘Gateway to Everest’, is the trading capital of the Everest Region.
