Api Saipal Trek - Nepal's Wild West Trek - Trek in the extreme north-western corner of Nepal, close to the border with both Tibet and India, the little-known peak of Api (7132m) marks the final upthrust of the Nepal Himalaya. Adventure Connexion, journey to this mysterious mountain involves a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and a drive to the frontier town ofBaitadi. From here, we trek north beside the Mahakali River which forms the border with India. We can expect to see no other trekkers during the course of a long and fascinating approach through the rustic villages, pristine forest and picturesque farmland of this far-flung region. Beyond the last settlement and above the tree-line, we reach the western basecamp for Api, located at around 4500 metres in a beautiful high valley. Exploring above this camp, we will climb to a high ridge for the best views of Api and of the impressive Indian peaks of Panch Chuli and Nanda Devi. This is very much an 'Explore More' trip into an area that is not on any trekkers map.
